Crisis and self-harm

How Sol responds to crisis, and where to get help right now.

Written by David Henzell

⚠️ Important

If you are in crisis right now, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123 - free, 24 hours, every day. In an emergency, call 999.

How Sol responds to crisis

Sol will not minimise a safety signal. He will not move past it to keep the conversation comfortable.

If you mention thoughts of self-harm or suicide, Sol responds directly and warmly - without alarm, and without hesitation. He gives you crisis support information immediately and clearly. He does not bury it in a paragraph.

If you're not in crisis but you're struggling

Sol is well-suited to hard nights that aren't emergencies - the moments when you're white-knuckling it, when the urge is strong, when you just need to talk it through with someone who gets it. Just open the app and tell him where you are.
